Noble Octopus worked together with Elevate Your Clinic, a provider of business coaching and development for the therapy industry, to create an industry leading online learning platform – the EYC Academy.
Elevate Your Clinic approached us with a vision to create an online member’s area and learning platform, allowing therapy business owners to access best-in-industry learning material 24/7, on multiple devices, and in a way which they could fit into their busy clinic schedules.
In collaboration with EYC, we took this vision, and successfully launched the EYC Academy at a major event in the therapy industry calendar – Therapy Live.
The EYC Academy is a versatile, expandable online learning platform. Built within the Elevate Your Clinic website, on the WordPress platform, the EYC Academy utilises the MemberPress plugin to manage memberships and access, as well as Learndash – a popular plugin for creating online courses. We used a combination of the two plugins to create a flexible online learning environment where users can choose to dip in and out of content or follow a structured course; dependant on their individual learning style. All of the content is accessed through an exclusive member’s area with a unique, personalised home page. The home page allows access to learning content, audience specific news, exclusive member discounts and benefits, as well as the various options to manage or upgrade an account. We also included a forum within the member’s area, allowing members to interact with each other, as well as with Andy and Phil, the directors of EYC.
The EYC Academy is designed to be expandable, with new content added regularly. For this reason, we built the Academy using a series of templates for different styles of content. These templates allow EYC to easily add their own future content, without needing detailed web design knowledge.
The initial launch of the EYC Academy featured over 50 hours of video content. Noble Octopus worked with EYC to develop a project plan to ensure this content was delivered on time. We identified Vimeo as the ideal platform to host the video content, enabling it to be embedded within the EYC Academy, but also shared with third parties for marketing. Vimeo also gives EYC the future capability to host webinars and live events through the Academy, a feature which will help market their product, and drive increased traffic to the online platform.
Our graphic design team were also heavily involved in the build process. EYC wanted to provide Academy members with a wealth of resources, including handouts, worksheets, checklists and ebooks. Our design team created a design theme for these documents, expanding upon EYC’s original branding. EYC’s watermark features the company’s initials, framed in a box. This framing is carried through the documents, and in turn through the online platform itself to create consistency and brand familiarity. Again, due to the expandable nature of the EYC Academy, templates have been created which will make future design work simpler, and more affordable for EYC.
